"Two Hearts" framed print silent auction benefitting the Fox Valley Warming Shelter

"Two Hearts"

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day. It is also the day that I will be a part of my second pop up exhibit with other Take Me to the River artists. This time held at Foxley's in Downtown Appleton during the annual Valentine's Day Death by Chocolate event held in various businesses in the area. I will be featuring the above image, "Two Hearts" in 5 x 5 flat cards and prints. 1 10 x 10 print will be offered as a finished piece by Foxley's as double matted (one black and one gray) and framed in cherry and black wood.  This piece will be up for silent auction during the event with all proceeds going to the Fox Valley Warming Shelter. A big thank you goes to Eric Miller of Foxley's for donating the framing! More information on the event can be found by following the link. Come visit!

The story behind "Two Hearts":  The image is a part of a gate that leads to a courtyard at St Joseph Parish in the downtown Appleton area (there is usually a welcome sign over the top "heart"). Inspired by songs that have "Two Hearts" as part of the lyrics, I used several editing techniques (super high contrast, taking everything but the black out and vignetting) to put the focus on the heart like shapes in the gate.

A couple of these songs are below
